Marion May lingerie started by recycling surplus fabrics, generated seasonally by the ever-fickle fashion industry. Marion gave these unloved materials a new lease on life, incorporating them into unique pieces. All textiles were individually sourced by the designer herself in the best workshops.

To keep a coherency in the collections and a continuity, Marion is now working with limited editions fabrics, sourced in small independent fabric shops or end of collections from other designers and factories.

Each piece is absolutely unique, handmade in Marion’s studio in limited-edition series.

Bespoke service is also available where her clients can customise any piece with the colour, fabric and finish of their choosing.

The girl behind Marion May.

Marion May is a young French designer.

Her intensely creative mind compelled her to study the arts and graphic design, but growing up with a seamstress grandmother and a fashion designer sister, it wasn’t long before she discovered fashion design as her ultimate form of expression.

“I used to follow my sister and her sewing machine everywhere when I was a child, helping her choose fabrics and even pitching ideas to her.”

In 2008 she co-founded the women’s wear label ‘HandYMade’, receiving critical acclaim from the public, international press, and blogs. From patternmaking to graphic design and brand identity, Marion was and is the driving force in all creative areas of her brand.

After seven successful seasons and in search of new inspiration, she moved to London and founded ‘Marion May’ in February 2013. She found in the British capital an amazing source of inspiration from its unique street-style to its vintage shops, avant-garde aesthetic and its constant flow of new talent.

“My aim today is to run an ethical and beautiful lingerie label, making people aware of waste and recycling.”

Since 2017, she is running the business in Paris and is also working as a Chef for various project and restaurants.
